This record is more accessible than most of their earlier releases. I think my main hang up with Mates of State is their somewhat silly lyrical delivery in most songs. And I’m not really a big fan of piano throughout entire songs. It is nice to see more “pop” music like this instead of the crap that passes for pop music in this day and age. I don’t know, I might like this more with further listens.
