They were too abrasive for me upon first listen, so I just never really cared much in subsequent years. This record doesn’t change my opinion much, though there are hints of something different here and there. They are gods at what they do, but they’ve been doing the same thing forever. I’ll stick with Seasons in the Abyss when I want a Slayer fix.
